The redevelopment of the Ottawa Convention Centre has an impact on our city, province and country. MEDIA RELEASES - Ottawa Convention Centre added $101 million to Ottawa�s economy in 2012

OTTAWA, ON�May 13, 2013 The Ottawa Convention Centre (OCC) attracted 54,400 out of town visitors that boosted Ottawa�s economy by approximately $101 million in 2012, according to an economic impact study conducted by Ipsos Reid. Commissioned by OCC, the study analyzed spending on the 57 OCC conventions and tradeshows held in 2012 that drew at least 25 percent of participants from outside the Ottawa-Gatineau area. The $101 million in direct spending includes:

Ottawa � The Ottawa Convention Centre (OCC) has been named winner of the 10th annual Award of Excellence by the Canadian Design-Build Institute at the 2012 National Design-Build Conference, held this year from October 11-12 in St. John�s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Ottawa Convention Centre � Canada�s Meeting Place - has achieved AIPC Quality Standards Gold Certification with the successful completion of an audit by the designated external auditor for AIPC (International Association of Congress Centres). The OCC joins a group of only 20 AIPC convention centres worldwide that have successfully achieved this level of international certification.
