The Shaw Centre is located in the heart of Ottawa, the Nation’s Capital. Situated on the site of the Old Congress Centre, we breathe new life into Ottawa’s downtown core. It is one of the most successful convention centers of its kind in the country. A major redevelopment took place in 2011 which tripled the Shaw Centre’s Ottawa hosting capacity. The reimagined space has greatly increased the appeal of national and international convention planners.
We continually host meetings, trade shows, and events of all shapes and sizes, proudly. In 2021, the Shaw Centre won the International Association of Conference Centres (AIPC) APEX award for the elusive title of “World’s Best Convention Centre”. Since its opening in 2011, the Shaw Centre in Ottawa has hosted more than 4,447 exceptional events and one thing is for sure, the best is yet to come.

This time-lapse video showcases our colleagues flipping a room during a 10-day city-wide corporate event we held at our Centre. For 10 days, our Canada Hall went through various stages of preparation, setup, rehearsals, and events including a Superbowl party, sessions, and a gala dinner with a rock concert. 7 set-up days, 3 event days, 1700 delegates, 3 cameras, 45,000 photos, and 1 team of dedicated colleagues made this amazing video and an unforgettable event.
