There are countless reasons to love Ottawa every time of year, but as winter comes to an end (a little later this year) and spring settles in, Canada’s Capital blossoms with a variety of indoor and outdoor events.

As you host or attend a meeting, conference or event here at the Shaw Centre, we put together a list of festivals and events happening within walking distance from our facility and require little to no money for you and your guests!

TIFF Film Circuit at the Gallery: April 26 – June 28

The Toronto International Film Festival presents the best of Canadian and international films at the National Gallery of Canada, which is a short five-minute walk from the convention centre! This unique festival combines cinema, food and good conversation.

Ottawa Art Gallery Opening

Home to some of the art work from the Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG), Shaw Centre is thrilled for the gallery expansion opening this spring with a showcase of the region’s rich art history.

CN Cycle for CHEO: May 6

This fun and non-competitive charity event offers a wide range of cycling (15K, 35K, 70K) and walking (2K, 5K) routes for people of all ages and abilities. The fully-supported urban cycling routes are closed to traffic, allowing everyone to safely cycle along Ottawa’s most scenic corridors around the Shaw Centre!

Canadian Tulip Festival: May 11 – 21

This annual world-famous festival features over a million tulips across Canada’s Capital, plus entertainment, activities and special events. The perfect way to wind down after a day of meetings or conferences at the Shaw Centre!

Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend: May 26 – 27

Join almost 50,000 participants who compete in a variety of challenging races, including a 10k and Canada’s largest marathon during the Ottawa Race Weekend. Not a runner? That’s okay! You can join spectators outside our facility and enjoy th  e picturesque views of major Ottawa landmarks, including Parliament Hill and the Rideau Canal.
