Information technology and communications provided by Encore Audio Visual
IT, technology and communications requirements must be arranged through the Shaw Centre’s exclusive partner, Encore Audio Visual, our exclusive provider of:
- Internet access (wired and WiFi)
- Telecommunications (telephone and data)
- Local area networking and equipment within the building
- Built-in video broadcast systems
- Built-in projectors and screens
- Computer rental services

Audio-Visual, Presentation Staging, Lighting, and Simultaneous Interpretation Services provided by Encore Audio Visual
We recommend that all presentation technology requirements be arranged through Encore Audio Visual, our official partner with an onsite office and warehouse at the Shaw Centre. Encore Audio Visual provides a full range of presentation technology for Shaw Centre clients, including:
- Audio-visual services
- Built-in projectors and screens in each room
- Lighting services
- Simultaneous Interpretation services
- Presentation staging services
- Scenery, décor and custom room environments
- Digital services – computers, webcasting, encoding, interactive voting systems, LAN-based presentation management

Rigging Services
Rigging service requirements must be arranged through Encore. Encore provides skilled and qualified technicians and riggers for the installation and removal of overhead rigging equipment for specialty lighting, theatrical elements and other show components. Installation and removal of any temporary event graphics or signage that is affixed to or hung from any hard service at the facility must be arranged through Encore.

Electrical Services
Electrical service requirements must be arranged through Encore. Encore will provide safe and effective temporary electrical services for trade shows and other events as required. These certified electricians will install the temporary electrical distribution equipment such as distribution panels, cables, cable mats and covers and related equipment or products required for safe and complete installations.
The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is authorized by provincial legislation to perform electrical inspections in the Province of Ontario and the Shaw Centre. Electrical inspections are required on temporary electrical installations at the Centre. Furthermore, all electrical equipment must be approved or certified with a recognized standards label (ie: CSA monogram) before it may be used for display or presentation.

Show Services
GES is a global, award-winning organization which provides integrated services for face-to-face marketing and brand building events, including expositions, conventions, corporate events, meetings and exhibit programs. Services include the rental, installation and dismantling of booth and special event furnishings including hard wall panels, pipe and drape, furniture, carpet and accessories. They also offer custom booth fabrication, installation and dismantle services, graphics and banners, exhibit transportation and customs clearance, advanced storage, and many other client driven requirements.

Material Handling – Provided by GES
Exhibitors and clients have the option, but are not required, to use the Exclusive Partner for Material Handling if they are able to safely and efficiently, without risk of damage to the facility, move-in and move-out their event or exhibit materials or crates etc… by hand or by dollies without the use of motorized and mechanized materials handling equipment.
Should a Client and/or their suppliers, exhibitor or exhibit, tradeshow or a consumer show require Material Handling Services such as those requiring the use of motorized or mechanized equipment such services must be arranged through the Shaw Centre’s Exclusive Partner.
Material handling involves the unloading of your materials at the designated unloading zone(s), delivery of the materials to your booth or designated Shaw Centre location, and the return of your materials to the designated loading zone(s) for reloading onto your outbound carrier. In some cases (depending upon the extent of services required or provided by your event) this may include storage of empty containers during the event, and their return for repackaging, followed by reloading onto your outbound carrier. Labour, Licensed Operators and the appropriate equipment are used to unload and load your carrier and get your materials to your event location safely, and efficiently.

Loading Dock
The Shaw Centre Loading Dock was designed with our clients in mind. Its features were built to accommodate events of all sizes with the goal of making your move-in and move-out straightforward and seamless.
Loading Bays
Four bays with adjustable hydraulic plates that can accommodate trucks of various heights with or without lift gates.
A fifth bay with a hydraulic lift that can be horizontally adjusted to various vehicle heights. Due to its split plate it can also be used on vans.
Three bays can accept 53” trailers and two of them can accommodate highway cabs.
Bay Six is a flat area that can accept up to eight passenger vehicles.
An exhaust hose serves bays three and four for clients renting the bay to install diesel reefer truck/trailer.
Electrical outlets are also available. One washroom is located on the dock.
Elevators
Two passenger elevators with capacities of 56 people or 9000lb (4080kg) that can be used for smaller freight.

Door dimensions: 108: high, 53.5” wide
One small freight elevator with a capacity of 20 000lb (9072kg).
